A substantial antique pine military chest from the 19th Century in original paint with carrying handles on each side. Issued to Captain Houstoun of the 4th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
- Possibly belonging to Captain George Houstoun-Boswall who served in the battalion in 1895 before transferring to the Grenadier Guards in 1900, he died in 1915 during the Battle of Loos.
- Hinged lid opens to reveal expansive internal storage.
In good condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use.
